Getting to the root of the problem |
We are able to offer a full range of endodontic treatments. All of the following cases were completed by Dr Stanley Wilby-Lopez (Endodontist) (reproduction of these images only with his express permission). |

Treatment procedures |
Inflammation of the dental pulp (nerve), or infection of the root canal space can be treated by removing the inflamed/ infected tissue. A root can filling can then be placed to prevent infection of this space. |
Root canal treatment |
When the root has not completely formed the opening of the root canal can be large and difficult to fill. MTA is a new biocompatible material which can be used to plug this opening without the need for surgery. The rest of the root canal can then be filled in the usual way. |
Root Canal Retreatment |
Infection of previously root canal treated teeth can treated by removing the root canal filling. Disinfecting the root canal space and placing a new root canal filling. |

Root End Surgery With IRM or MTA |
Perforation Repair Perforations are cavities made in the root of a tooth which communicate with the root canal space. These can become infected if not filled and can compromise the success of root canal system. |
The root canal system may have difficult curvatures or ramifications to clean and fill. Endodontists are able to treat these teeth effectively for a predictably successful outcome. |

When root canal treatment has failed due to bacteria remaining within the root tip. A surgical procedure can be performed to allow cleaning and filling of the root canal space via the tip of the root. |
Even with the most meticulous care, the fine instruments used to prepare the root canal can break. These can obstruct the root canal preventing full preparation and disinfection. With the use of a surgical microscope endodontists are able to remove, or by pass these obstructions and complete the root canal treatment. |

Silver Point Removal |
Silver points are an old fashioned root filling material which can prove difficult to remove when retreatment is indicated. Endodontists have acquired techniques which facilitate their removal and allow retreatment of the root canal to take place. |
